It can be easy to start a blog but when it comes to making money from it, it can be really frustrating. You have to go through tons of online stuffs, do your research to find out which one is legitimate, check out reviews and so on. It is time consuming and most of the time, people give up.

I have decided to post 10 useful methods to help you start making money from blogging. If you do it right, you will make money for real. Now remember, these are the basic methods for beginners. I want you to succeed in blogging and it is always better to start.  I am working on another post that will include and explain several more methods to make money for serious and professional bloggers.

Making money online is mostly about monetizing your blog. It all depends on your skills, network and the most important, the traffic level of your blog. I post a lot of tips on gaining traffic frequently so do check them out and subscribe to stay updated.

In-Text Advertising

Most of the blogs these days use in-text ads. It is simple and clean. Whether it’s a small blog or a big one, a lot of bloggers consider using in-text ads.  They look like simple links but with double-lines below them. If you can get some good amount of traffic, they will work like a charm

Text Link Ads

This is a very good and legit method. If you keep your blog updated with quality posts, your blog will gain good reputation and traffic which will make your blog a great place for links. People and advertisers will approach you and even pay you to put their links on your page/blog. Just be careful when you make a decision because while you may earn money from these method; putting up irrelevant and value-less links might be detrimental to your blog in Google’s algorithm. Not all advertisements are good so do your own research before dealing with this.

Pay Per Click (PPC)

An advertising method where ads are placed in your blog and you get paid whenever the visitors click on them.  This method is used by almost everyone. You have heard about adsense without any doubt and you should know how it works. The more traffic means more impressions and maybe clicks which results to more revenue.

Cost Per Thousand (CPM)

An impression based advertising system.  Almost similar to the ppc, you are paid based on how many times the ad shows up.  If you have good traffic, this can make you good money. Even if you blog is small and new, you can still monetize it using this method.

RSS Feed Ads

This one is quite interesting. It is an easy and quick way to increase the advertisement on your blog. The simplest way is to get a Feedburner account, add your blog, click on the monetize tab and you will have Google Adsense which can be added to your feeds.

Pop-up Ads

I don’t like pop-up ads myself. They are annoying and you know that very well. But it depends on how you use it. If you are trying to build a community then this will chase off your visitors. Some niche can actually be good with pop-up ads. If you have a poker site or maybe health related or even games then you can consider this method. However, just bear in mind that these can be really annoying.

Just like wordpress widgets, these are ad related widgets which are easily integrated into your blog’s sidebar.

Filling out surveys can earn you some bucks. You can also place some on your blogs for others to fill up so you can earn money. There are hundreds of good credible companies but at the same time there are lots of scammers. Do your research before you sign up with a particular company. You don’t want to work hard and realize that it was for nothing.

Article Marketing

One of my best and legit method. It is just sweet because it gives you two advantages. You get both quality backlinks to your blog as well as make money from the articles itself. I am an elite Squidoo lensmaster and use it frequently. I also use hubpages, ezine and Associated Content personally. They are simply amazing and a must use along with your blogging.

This is one of the most lucrative process for earning money online. It is a method where you recommend useful and relevant products to your readers through blog posts. I prefer affiliate marketing myself because you do not sell the products but instead market it through your blog. There are tons of products you can market but do not recommend products you haven’t tried or experienced it yourself.
