Twitter is huge, no doubt. And this giant microblogging platform is growing rapidly. Its users are growing so fast that you can’t even imagine. A lot of new tweples (twitter users) struggle to get new followers and always end up following more. When you search for tools to increase twitter followers or automate your twitter experience, Google gives you ton of results and you don’t know which one is legit. I will try to solve your problem today.
Frankly speaking, I have not used any paid twitter tools myself other than tweetadder which is pretty awesome for automating the twitter following unfollowing process. I have used it since I early 2009 but at the moment, I am more focused on delivering quality content which will help build a genuine list of real followers. However, I have always loved automation so if you are looking to build a network of quality followers and automate the whole experience then check out tweetadder. You don’t really need it but you can still have it :); just saying. Also, make sure you check out the list of some good twitter cleaner tools.
You don’t need money to buy followers but you need good strategy. Lots of websites are popping up everyday which offer twitter services such as buying/selling twitter accounts etc. Please note that this is totally unethical and violates twitter rules.
I don’t see any point why you should buy fake twitter followers which add no value. They disappear over time and are worthless. If you have so much money to invest in such crap then please send some to me 🙂 I don’t mind money.
The tips I am posting today are simple and totally based on my own experience; if followed properly, it will definitely work to some certain extent.
Gain More Twitter Followers the Right Way!
Follow those who are Following Twitter users in your Niche
People usually follow whom they find useful, interesting or helpful. If you find someone following a person in your niche that means the follower is interested in that particular niche. If you follow this person’s followers, they might follow you back. Now this is not a 100% guarantee but it works most of the time. Find several top twitter users in your niche who has huge number of followers and then follow them. You can either do this manually or use tweetadder to make it easier. Remember not to over-do this because mass following violates twitter TOS and they take this very seriously. I would suggest that you don’t follow/unfollow more than 250 users per day. There is no specific number and it all depends on the ratio of your following to followers count. However, it’s always good to stay under the twitter radar.
Put Twitter Link on Your Stuff
People follow you if they find you interesting. But, in order to follow you, they need to discover you first. There are millions of twitter users and you can’t expect them to look for you. The best way to gain some exposure to your twitter profile is to add your twitter profile link to every website you author and own. If you are active in a forum or an online community, then you can add your twitter link in your signature. If you write articles and publish in online article directories then you can add the link in your resource box or even profile section. You can also add the link to your email signature; in this way whenever you email someone, they get to check out your twitter.
As a matter of fact, my friends and family members didn’t know I had a twitter account until they saw it on my email signature. This shows it works. PS: You can also print your twitter handle on a tee shirt and wear it around your block 😉 Although I didn’t go that extreme but I am sure you can give it a shot. Make sure you don’t wear it in parties because most would be too drunk to remember your twitter username.
Stay Active on Twitter
A good way to get noticed is to participate in twitter and staying active all the time. Re-tweet other’s useful posts or tweets. This can draw huge attention. Remember, people are always seeking to learn and discover new things. If you re-tweet a popular or useful post which will benefit others, they are most likely to re-tweet your re-tweet. I hope you know what I mean. When they re-tweet your tweet, you will get noticed by their followers and they might do the same; they might as well start following you.
When posting a tweet, try to revaluate the quality by asking if it delivers some value or solves a problem or would make somebody laugh. Do not post all day and take up the entire twitter timeline. People don’t like to see your stuff all day; this will bore them to death and make them unfollow you. Instead, space out your tweets and deliver value to the community.
Don’t Get Killed
I like this tip and you should too. It’s easy to get killed on twitter. Mass follow and get banned right away. Abuse the shit out of something on twitter, get banned. I don’t want this to happen to you so I want you to follow some simple rules to avoid this nightmare.
If you follow my strategies properly, you will be safe. First, don’t try to use any crappy free or paid twitter automation tools. I have tried it in the past and believe me, I have had several of my accounts compromised. Now I simply use hootsuite or tweetadder to manage my twitter campaigns.
Whether you decide to use these tools or not, remember, going fast might get you tons of followers quick but increase the risk of getting banned; so slow down my friend. Do not follow more than 250 users a day. I suggest you stick with 200-300 and see how it works out. Twitter has a policy which doesn’t allow users to follow more than 1000 users a day and there is a ratio of following to followers which means if you have 10 followers while following 100, you need to wait or unfollow the people who are not following you before you could add more friends.
You will definitely end up following more than having followers at first but be patient. Repeat these steps for couple of months and you will have some good followers on twitter.
PS: As I said earlier, re-tweeting good, useful and popular posts can get you followers. How about a re-tweet 😉
Let me know what you think about this post. What other methods would you recommend to increase twitter followers?
